Blackbeard Songtext
von Pat Razket

Gunpowder and smoke and two hundred men
He plundered the seas again and again
Merchants surrendered as the captain appeared
With burning black ribbons in his braided black beard

From Ocracoke Island he used to set sail
No thoughts of whisky or British pale ale
With the wind in his sails and a bottle of rum
He dreamed of golden treasures and adventures to come

Gunpowder and smoke and two hundred men
He plundered the seas again and again
Merchants surrendered as the captain appeared
With burning black ribbons in his braided black beard

He stole a merchant vessel from the French
And renamed the ship "Queen Anne′s revenge"
300 tons and more than 40 guns
He made her legendary this feared British son

Gunpowder and smoke and two hundred men
He plundered the seas again and again
Merchants surrendered as the captain appeared
With burning black ribbons in his braided black beard

He was born in Bristol city, named Edward Teach
But his life ended near a Caribbean beach
Trapped by Robert Maynard and stabbed by his men
The drunk captain Blackbeard never plundered again

Gunpowder and smoke and two hundred men
He plundered the seas again and again
Merchants surrendered as the captain appeared
With burning black ribbons in his braided black beard

Gunpowder and smoke and two hundred men
He plundered the seas again and again
Merchants surrendered as the captain appeared
With burning black ribbons in his braided black beard
