It's About Time Songtext
von Pat Ramsey

While I′m sittin' on this front porch dreamin′
'Bout ninety-five years of good times
Soon a good Lord be bound to get me
And I won't even whine

′Cause it′s about time
I just lay this body down
It's about time
I just lay this old body down
When it′s all over and done with but me
Six feet underground

I got stones in my kidneys
Arthritis in my hands
My liver's begun to malfunction and my
Woman′s runnin' with another man

Well now, it′s about time
I just lay this body down
It's about time
I just lay this old body down
Well I'll charge once again Lord but I′ll
Just as soon receive that crown

Well since, Richard Pryor nicknamed me Mudbone
People just won′t let me be
They say I could be a big blue star but that
Fast life would just kill me

Well now, it's about time
I just lay this body down
It′s about time
I just lay this old body down
When it's all over and done with but me
Six feet underground

Well I′ll charge once again Lord but I'll
Just as soon receive that crown
