Fillin’ a Gap Songtext

Please don′t ask me to dream
I wouldn't know what I was missing
My eyes were made to see
And my ears were tuned to listen
Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen

The sea, like white horses, is chasing the beach
Confusing the calm that my eyes try to reach
I hear the sound of their hooves across the sand
The sun agrees to restrict its glare
It strikes the back of a flashing white mare
Spilling and frothing, it hurdles the rocks on the shore

Please don′t ask me to dream
I wouldn't know what I was missing
My eyes were made to see
And my ears were tuned to listen
Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen

I wake each morning to the sound of the sea
Chained to the shore, what men make it to be
While like a prisoner with ragged hair
I look at the stars that appear each night
So out of reach, but not out of sight
I fear my dream of freedom eludes me too

Please don't ask me to dream
I wouldn′t know what I was missing
My eyes were made to see
And my ears were tuned to listen
Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen
