Magnolia Tree Songtext

That old magnolia in the front yard′s
Seen some better days
Still a hopeful wind is rustling her leaves
I've been trying to find a better way
To get through to you
Been ringing to the heavens
Early morn to afternoon

Went out barefooted
Looking for your footprints
On the pink petals
And fallen buds
Maybe you′d be hiding
In the piles of leaves
They're left unkempt
No one to rake them tall

Nature's cruel because
It makes you fall in love
With emerald graces
And smiling faces
Then wipes them without a trace
It′s hard
This yard was a playground
With the charm of a Renoir
I′ll go outside not for the stars
But to search for you in the arms

Of the Magnolia Tree
It was always you and me
In the magnolia Tree
Will I catch a glimpse of you?
In the magnolia Tree
If I hang upside down
From the branches
Like we always used to do
Are you
In the Magnolia Tree

At the tip tip top
With the bird's nesting
I can almost hear your laugh in the breeze
Half of me is living in the clouds
The other half lives in this tree
They call it Heaven sent
But it hasn′t been heaven since
You snuck into the midnight bloom
The hill went down

Nature's cruel because
It makes you fall in love
With emerald graces
And people′s faces
Then wipes them out without a trace
It's hard
This yard was a playground
With the charm of a Renoir
I′ll go outside not for the stars
But to search for you in the arms

Of the Magnolia Tree
It was always you and me
In the magnolia Tree
Will I catch a glimpse of you?
In the magnolia Tree
If I hang upside down
From the branches
Like we always used to do
Are you
In the Magnolia Tree
If I fall
If I fall
If I fall
From the Magnolia Tree
