Flames licking at our ankles
I close my eyes and face the darkness
Sparks of something I used to know

Walking by a lake, your face in the evening glow
I′m unsure of what I'm searching for

Woke up in the forest at the top of a hill
I guess I′m looking for a view more expansive than myself
I guess I'm looking for a view of someone I once knew

Looking for words like mine in the sky
Trying to pretend like time is like time

We escaped from the fire
Into silhouettes of trees against an orange sky
But it was just another goodbye
Faces without names pressed in bed
Places with voices I never knew they had
Black ash on the bottom of my tennis shoes
