Thief Songtext

Just the other night

I was walking down the street

A yob came flying past
And knocked me off my feet
Just as I got up
The police they did appear
They grabbed me by the collar
And pulled me on the ear
They took me down the station
And put me in a line
They said I′d have to pay
For this nasty crime

Now don't go blaming me
′Cause it wasn't all my fault
Now don't go locking up
That precious family vault
People say I′m evil
A very strange belief
No one really knows me
They say I am a thief

They took me to the jail
And put me in a cell
Saying as they turned away
Just you rot in hell

Twenty years I spent
With the criminal mob
The day that I got out
I swore to get that yob
Then the other night
I was walking home to bed
I saw that bloody yob
And punched him in the head

Now don′t go blaming me
'Cause it wasn′t all my fault
Now don't go locking up
That precious family vault
People say I′m evil
A very strange belief
No one really knows me
They say I am a thief

Now don't go blaming me
′Cause it wasn't all my fault
Now don't go locking up
That precious family vault
People say I′m evil
A very strange belief
No one really knows me
They say I am a thief
