The Train Songtext

The Train Songtext

I pull the rushes from the water
And fall backwards, through the mist, into a kiss, a white, hot, steam hiss
That saturates the air, and I see it there

So, I spin away, in wide circles
I spiral up, and back, again, through paths, and brooks, and ancient woods
I push aside a bush, to see it, once again
To see it, once again

Standing, waiting quietly, with an empty seat that′s just for me

All aboard, get on the train
And pay your fee, again and again
Take your seat, and close your eyes
'Til the red king says, "It′s the end of the line"

The days dissolve, as the sun returns on the arc, carved by the moon
And through the mists, I twirl and skip
But like a ghostly ship, it sits, waiting there for me

All aboard get on the train
And pay your fee again and again
Take your seat and close your eyes
'Til the red king says, "It's the end of the line" (line)

Under the veil of darkest night, beyond its sinister turnstile
The black iron horse, incites me to pull out my paints and brushes
And cloak it in hues of cerulean light
Ooh, cerulean light! (Light)

By the diamond dawn′s dew
I wearily climb back to my garden′s flowered rooms
And in the distance, I hear the eerie cry of the whistle blows that permeate the sky

I know it waits there, patiently
I hear it still, but cannot see
Because, my flights of fancy set me free
Set me free
Set me free
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, oh
