Seized me with pleasure of this pain
Sad has conducted me unto one death
I had heard those souls tormented

When I arrive before the precipice
I descended out of the first circle
As turtle-doves, called onward by desire
While silent wind, as it is now

I swooned away as if I had been dying
And fell, even as a dead body falls
With sadness had confused me
Until the Poet said to me

And don′t you feel weak
And don't also be sad
Because you are the highest degree
If you are a believer
