Mostly Dark Songtext

I didn′t want to move a muscle
Had a fear to learn that I couldn't even if I tried
An ice bath of a glare and I got chills up and down my spine
I thought I heard somebody at the door
And so instantly I felt paralyzed
But I knew it couldn′t be
'Cause my company only shows up at night

Natural light poured through white curtains
Like the house plants extended invitations
Begging for it to come in
Despite how much I tried
To let it out
I felt like one of them
Potted in the kitchen
The way I couldn't move around
Could only listen

Alone in a room that′s mostly dark
I stood mostly still
In case the room was only mostly empty
Melt my body back to milk
The wood floor tells us a story
By an author of boots or high heels
Which of the two from here?
I really couldn′t tell

Recycle my breaths into my nose
To stay as quiet as can be
I felt the heated tiles underneath my feet
White walls blended my pale skin
I couldn't tell if it was imaginary or my adrenaline
Pulsing my blood momentarily
Pushing my eyes like piano keys
Strumming my optic nerve like bass strings

I felt like pure porcelain

I have this song stuck in my head
We′re all the burglars in my brain
Can't help but to ballet
When I put it on
I have this song stuck in my head
We′re all the burglars in my brain
Can't help but to ballet
When I put it on

Watch ′em dance the day away
I watch 'em dance the day away
I watch 'em dance the day away

Mostly dark
Mostly still
Mostly empty
Someone′s here
