Stoic structures striving
Tyrants of industry thriving
Pensive paupers prowling
In the shadow of this soaring sprawl
From putrefying waters to the withering green
Towering silhouettes that scrape the sky
Enshrouding in darkness all that can be seen
The land scoured clean
To seed a foul nexus of fell intentions
Once a bastion to gird against destruction
Now becoming an icon of corruption
Like a great engorged beast
Requiring sacrifice to sate its ravenous hunger
Straining under the weight of its immense edifice
The distended signs of unbridled avarice
Unending expansion


The slow march of ensured devastation
Unceasing consumption
Our aimless, directionless, voracious momentum
The strata signified in the gulf between gutter and sky
Those who serve and those who strive
And those whose legacy transcends flesh and time
Serfs swiftly scurry in their servile duties
While verminous vagrants feast on the excesses
Below dregs dwell in doubt and fear the gentry above
Their necks crane upwards
To see the monument to greed
