In the beginning there was a girl who really wasn′t concerned
With meeting a boy and being the center of someone's world
But everything took a turn when mom introduced to her
This boy at a biscuit love who was trying to act down to earth
But inside he was stressing cause she was so refreshing
And he got more invested as she answered his question
So he got her number and eventually asked her out
But when he did she frowned and said I′m not looking right now

But that right now inspired the boy's hope
So he became her friend and then she laughed at his dumb jokes
He traveled the long road but little did he know
She started catching feelings that she wanted to unload
Cause she needed control
The girl was completely opposed to ruining the friendship
So the door remained closed but oh no
A bottle of Merlot gets drank and changes the boy's life
The girl says fuck it for one night the next day


She got on a plane but somehow it didn′t feel weird
They kept on talking and laughing like nothing had happened
But still the boy′s hope persevered
They started going out late, but claimed they weren't dates
And blamed what they drank on lack of restraint
All of her friends struggled cause they weren′t subtle
As they struggled becoming a couple on February 14th though
The boy sent over a text and brought her some chocolate
But thought nothing of it cause he'd given up on his difficult quest
He didn′t expect that she would get choked up
Give him a kiss and stop being so tough
That's what she asked him um, what are we anyway?
And he replied, I think that we′re were dating

But the universe had other plans
And the world shut down for months
She moved home to Philly while he fled to DC
But that didn't stop their burgeoning love
Cause they FaceTimed to the wee hours of the morning
Learned near everything bout the other person
Somewhere along the way the boy became certain
He was in love and had to say something 'fore it worsened

He told her he loved her by writing a song
And she started crying before it was done
She said it back and that′s when he knew
Nothing would get in between me and you
Oops, that′s the wrong tense
But that's how the story began
It doesn′t end happily but its no tragedy
I wouldn't trade anything from beginning to end
