Let's Roll Songtext
von Mike Blakely

Let's Roll Songtext

One morning we woke up in America
After a long peaceful night
Manhattan stood in twin shadows
Beamer was boarding his flight
Along with the martyrs and murderers
Brought up on hatred and war
Willing to die just to show us
What kind of hell we could all be in for

The day the fuel flames flared in the offices
Jet planes fell from the sky
Good people jumped out of windows
Praying to God they might fly

And on flight 93 out of Jersey
Beamer witnessed a living nightmare
The darkest of days had descended
And something would rise in the air

Let′s roll, America
Let's roll over the fear
Let′s roll on to better days
Forever remember the toll
For the flag at half mast on the pole
To honor a lost hero's soul
Let's roll

So Beamer reaches out to a stranger
Calling from flight 93
He gets an operator on the telephone
A face he won′t ever see
She tells him ′bout the towers and the Pentagon
And now he knows it's all true
He says they gotta try something
But there′s only one thing they can do

So Beamer says a prayer with the stranger
Now he's made up his mind
Ain′t gonna die without fighting
Ain't gonna kill his own kind
And a handful of citizen soldiers
Make a tough fateful choice
Somewhere above Pennsylvania
The stranger can hear Beamer′s voice

Let's roll, America
Let's roll over the fear
Let′s roll on to better days
Forever remember the toll
For the flag at half mast on the pole
To honor a lost hero′s soul
Let's roll

Roll America
Yeah let′s roll over the fear
Let's roll, roll on to better days
Forever remember the toll
For the flag at half mast on the pole
To honor a lost hero′s soul
Let's roll

Roll
Roll
Roll
Let′s roll
