Waterlogged boots on a rainy day
You were busy sitting by the fire while I just sat in the tent
He was talking about the way the flowers bloom in May
We were sitting on the mountaintops thinking about the different kinds of phrase we had. We drove out to some town while it was pouring
All the firewood was soaked so we gathered around the stove, enjoying whatever heat we could salvage
That was the last time some of us would be together
Enjoying that summer daze while nature stayed and we all changed We went to college and we grew up a little
We made some new friends and we all just found different houses to live and do things in and enjoy everything
We were all really excited at the time too
We got it sorted out super early and got there pretty quick
We were set up within a matter of days and it felt like a dream
We had a routine going
I got a new job and I′d wake up at five in the morning most days of the week and go to work
We'd all take turns cooking and it finally felt like we were finding ourselves
It didn′t last long though, things happen for one reason or another and you never know what to expect in life and it was over
I came and went for three months
Some got to chase their dreams, go out west, go outside and be someone
But I'm still sitting there, in that empty living room at 3:35 in the morning, just thinking about what to do next
Now I find myself in a different home and I'm stuck in myself
Now I′m so upset with myself I can′t feel upset
Sometimes I'm so fed up with myself, that I can′t keep myself fed
If I couldn't say what I really wanted to say then I wouldn′t have to say it anymore
If I sit for too long, I'll think about everything we′ve done wrong
It makes everything feel angular
Circling back until we're all square
You were busy sitting by the fire while I just sat in the tent
He was talking about the way the flowers bloom in May
