My first car was a little yellow Datsun
Holes in the seat, cracks in the fuel line
An old air freshener shaped like a palm tree
Used Coke cans rattling behind me
With the ripped up metal wires and a bag of dirty clothes
Because of all the petrol fumes

So I like driving with the window down

All of our troubles are somewhere behind me
Two kids getting rowdy
Driving out of town with the windows down


My next car had a crack in the radiator
Left a little puddle on the street where I'd park it
Lemonade bottles that were filled up with water
Strong smell of sweat from the previous owner
You tried to tell me that to keep the engine cool
You gotta drive around in summertime with the heater on full bore
