Tight lips to loose ends
So the cycle goes
Retribution′s useless
Still can't help but count what I′m owed
The threat's a misperception
To restore safety and sense
I'm clearing the air now
Which fogs the form of my conscience

Use it or loser
My poor, aching pen
The letters I′m writing
More stationary than sent

Forbidden translations
Casting rosetta stones
Displaced my impatience
Where grace should be owed


Seems I have trouble discarding
Myself-relegation
Granted, it′s a process
Granted, what isn't?

I know that it′s one foot
Before the next
A lesson from my descent

Although I've shaken the rust,
Might I derail again?

Despite unraveling, I′m so tightly wound
Despite the spiral, I just couldn't come around
Despite the ends, I can′t tell what it means
In spite of this, why are we so certain where our ends will meet?

Retrace my outline past this distorted reflection
Aren't I a big laughing riot for all my hysterics?
Try to unlearn this reflex, I'm more than a kneejerk
Get back to breathing, not just taking a breather

Examine the new gaps
Can′t recall what filled their place
Seems when you chip at me, I flake

Time capsules, hard to swallow
Such joyful noise shouldn′t ring so hollow


If I should trust what I see,
And no one's truly lost anything
I′ll let trust be why I trust again
