Praying to a video screen till my eyes turn red

I see slow motion these days
No cigarette on my bed
I know I can shapeshift someday
And break out of my head


Digital nostalgia
I kept her picture in a portrait lock
Her fingerprint and everything still works on the dot
She pops up all over on my cam roll since October of 2016
I was 19
New kid on the campus.
Transfer and I landed From the prairie state
She never saw the half of it
I never kicked the habit of
Pushing, pulling myself ahead
I wish I′d stop trying to be who I think you want me to be

Flashes of your eyes pressed into my mind
Every moment, every memory on these video screens
I can feel you, I can touch you if I don't look away

I could reach out but you won′t be on the other side anyways.
