Beer Belly Songtext

Beer Belly Songtext

A young man with an ugly disease
Said he got what he wanted but not what he needs
As he′s rounding up his blessings and shaking 'em off in the breeze
A cold heart with a burning desire
To settle his problems by lighting a fire
So he counts up all his money and disappears off in the night

He locks all the doors, turns out the lights
And grabs another bottle of beer just to spite this world
′Cause it wants nothing, nothing for him
He folds to the urge, screams in the mirror
And grabs another bottle of beer just to spite this world
'Cause it means nothing, nothing to him

An old man with a glare in his eye
Stands alone at the window, staring at the sky
As he presses his hands to the glass and he lets out a sigh
A poor soul with an evening to kill
Throws the TV on for some comfort while drinking his fill
From a cup that's nearly empty but begging to spill
He insists that it never will

He locks all the doors, turns out the lights
And grabs another bottle of beer just to spite this world
′Cause it wants nothing, nothing for him
He folds to the urge, screams in the mirror
And grabs another bottle of beer just to spite this world
′Cause it means nothing, nothing to him
Nothing to him, nothing to him

Oh, goddamn, what a mess of a man
Never gave it a shot, never asked for a hand
A farewell, collapsed like an empty can

A young man with an ugly disease
Said he got what he wanted but not what he needs

He locks all the doors, turns out the lights
And grabs another bottle of beer just to spite this world
'Cause it wants nothing, nothing for him
He folds to the urge, screams in the mirror
And grabs another bottle of beer just to spite this world
′Cause it means nothing, nothing to him
