The Mall Songtext

The Mall Songtext
I′m standing in a shopping mall
And I'm gazing at a sign.
I′m taunted by three words which smirk,
And mock this life of mine.
I know it will not answer
As I scream out to it: "Where?!?!"
I"ve never been more lost,
And yet it tells me: "You are here".
The people, they all pass me by
With smiles upon their faces.
I think that here among the crowd
Is the loneliest of places.
For when there's no-one else about
Its understood that you're alone.
But to feel isolated from these people around
Just chills me to the bone.
I sometimes wonder of this life,
And the hardship it entails.
The constant worry of what will be –
Will I succeed or fail??
But I know in my heart that there′s no way
To throw away this treasure.
For though I wish to escape the pain,
I thrive upon the pleasures.
And I'm gazing at a sign.
I′m taunted by three words which smirk,
And mock this life of mine.
I know it will not answer
As I scream out to it: "Where?!?!"
I"ve never been more lost,
And yet it tells me: "You are here".
The people, they all pass me by
With smiles upon their faces.
I think that here among the crowd
Is the loneliest of places.
For when there's no-one else about
Its understood that you're alone.
But to feel isolated from these people around
Just chills me to the bone.
I sometimes wonder of this life,
And the hardship it entails.
The constant worry of what will be –
Will I succeed or fail??
But I know in my heart that there′s no way
To throw away this treasure.
For though I wish to escape the pain,
I thrive upon the pleasures.
