Unicorn's Shadow Songtext
von Lucas Valiante

I saw the white coat in the briar patch
Strike a match, waiting for the light to catch
You moved so fast, barely bent the grass
A creature made of smoke and antique glass

They say if I′m pure of heart, you'll lay your head
Right here on my lap, right here on my bed
But my hands are dirty and my mind is loud
And you′re just a vapor inside of a cloud

I'm hunting for a miracle
Something lyrical, something spiritual
But the forest is closing in on me
And I'm chasing what I want to see

I′m living in the Unicorn′s Shadow
Running circles in a hollow meadow
It's the outline of a love, not the thing itself
A dusty trophy on a high-up shelf

You′re not real, you're just a trick of the light
A beautiful ghost in the dead of the night
In the Unicorn′s Shadow, I'm cold and I′m blind
Searching for a creature that I'll never find

The horn is a weapon, it's not a cure
You′re deadly sharp, and you′re dangerously pure
I cut my feet on the roots and the stones
While you glide by, chilling my bones

I don't want a myth, I want a man
I want something I can hold in my hand
But I′m addicted to the chase, addicted to the gleaming
I'd rather be asleep if it means that I′m dreaming

I'm hunting for a miracle
Something lyrical, something spiritual
But the forest is closing in on me
And I′m chasing what I want to see

I'm living in the Unicorn's Shadow
Running circles in a hollow meadow
It′s the outline of a love, not the thing itself
A dusty trophy on a high-up shelf

You′re not real, you're just a trick of the light
A beautiful ghost in the dead of the night
In the Unicorn′s Shadow, I'm cold and I′m blind
Searching for a creature that I'll never find

Purity is a lie! Purity is a lie!
I don′t want to be clean!
I want to be seen!
Stop running! Stop running!
Turn around and face me!

Just a shadow. Just a horse with a knife on its head
Just a shadow. Just a shadow. Just a shadow
