Mistakes Songtext
Everything will stay the same
The more things change, the more they stay the same
The only time for change is making sure your mistakes are not the same
Mistakes change decisions, and gradually change your vision
Casually rename your mission, justifying your mistakes
And giving you room to make them same exact mistakes
So many emotions, hard to harness the right one
Stay clear of the day of exploding, but it might come
For so long played the game and losing was out the question
And accepting consequences was a never learned lesson
Guessing I caused other souls to stumble in their walk
Since I already been down, falling was only talk
But for the most part I′ve been in the position of aid
Just never quite utilized it, didn't fulfill what I was made to be
Used the limelight, what little fame given For deceiving and pulling folks to the place where I was living
Where the grand could get any reaction or response
And not truly noticing how much it cost to be lost
When claiming you not, man that′s for y'all to find out
And what's heard is the word of a man who went that route
No doubt, turned around and went the other way in the nick of time
And was able to keep the gift to kick a rhyme
So now I spit the kind to help change cats′ ways
So the jewels in my crown get mistaken for sunrays
One blazed trail at a time and I′m content
Shoot, Youth Watch got maps of raps in which we sent
And we never meant to do all this when we set out
When we long gone, it'll still be strong without us
So don′t doubt us, be driven by Christ despite what you think
The more things change, the more they stay the same
The only time for change is making sure your mistakes are not the same
Mistakes change decisions, and gradually change your vision
Casually rename your mission, justifying your mistakes
And giving you room to make them same exact mistakes
So many emotions, hard to harness the right one
Stay clear of the day of exploding, but it might come
