I′ve tried bending perceptions like arms behind backs
So they would see me for me and not what I lack
I've tried twisting their gazes like spiral staircases
So they would see my potential and not what I′ve wasted

But every attempt made me feel insecure
Then came that day when my eyes locked with hers

My form it found focus
My shape became sure
Those eyes they received me
Those eyes they affirmed
Those eyes they spoke to me

I've tried fixing my picture inside of their frame
So they would see my intentions and not my mistakes
I've tried shifting their vision to rose colored lenses
So they would see my addition and not what is missing


Each looking glass glance made me feel like a blur
