I see a young girl with her family gathered 'round her
With tear-filled eyes pleading with her to stay
But the glamour of the world has beckoned to her
So she ignores their pleas and slowly walks away

I see a woman and she's sitting in a barroom
She holds a drink and a smile is on her face
But that smile is just a mask to hide her feelings
Oh, she wants to go home but it's too late

I see a woman slowly walking by the river
Although she′s young, somehow she still looks old
Then she walks out on the bridge above the river
She sadly sighs then jumps into the water below

And the cold water silences my cry
