Mama’s Kitchen Table Songtext

Quick bite
A fast hi and goodbye
I′ll wake you up when I get home
Knowin' good and well
She′d be sitting there
Til I came walking through the door
It's crayon stained
The left side's faded from the sun
That old oak wood
Wouldn′t mean much
To just anyone
It′s where we talked about Jesus
Talked about life
A piece of heaven was a slice of pie
Morning prayer to a late night fight
First date mistakes, heartbreaks
Yeah I'm sure grateful
That I was able
To leave it all on mama′s kitchen table
She sits closest to the sweet tea

Cause she likes it that way
We might add a couple more chairs
But some things'll never change
It′s still where we talked about Jesus
Talked about life
A piece of heaven was a slice of pie
Morning prayer to a late night fight
First date mistakes, heartbreaks
Yeah I'm sure grateful
That I was able
To leave it all on mama′s kitchen table
It's red wine stained
Full of memories and small town secrets
More and more these days
I think about how I still need it
Where we talked about Jesus
Talked about life
A piece of heaven is a slice of pie
Morning prayer to a late night fight
First date mistakes, heartbreaks
Yeah I'm sure grateful
That I was able
To leave it all on mama′s kitchen table
