Manhattan Songtext

Manhattan Songtext

I held a space for family
A cousin and ghost dad
So with this knowledge find no solace
They go for a sack
I know we have a debt to pay
I thought of this travesty
The lights go out, I′ll only wait
Humanity in chains
We all look out
What madness we've found

If we had only known
If we had only seen
What now my eyes refuse to believe
If I could relive this time
I′ll burn every design
And still my eyes will not believe

Only time will tell my friend
If we helped construct the end
History will tell if it is kind to us
I know I have a debt to pay
I helped construct catastrophe
Child, I know we lost our way
But there is hope yet
Look out
What madness have we found

If we had only known
If we had only seen
What now my eyes refuse to believe
If I could relive this time
I'll burn every design
And still my eyes will not believe

A hundred thousand screams
Made no sound
No valid answers could be found
This disillusioned victory
It became my disease

No time to see the hero
The villain in disguise
It's in my mind
No time to see the coward
No time to see the ghost
No time because I have destroyed
What was most supposed

If we had only known
If we had only seen
What now my eyes will not believe
If I could relive this time
I′ll burn every design
And still my eyes will not believe the truth

Look out
What madness have we found
