It's hard to make a living when there is no work
The system′s got you cornered, that is no joke
Promises being made for a better life
It's hard to understand it with children and a wife

By the sweat of your brow, you shall eat bread
But our leaders don't remember the promises they said
You′re left to your devices, you′ll never get a break
You find you're in so deep, there is no escape
Can′t trust in anybody, they're looking out for themselves
Just trust the Almighty, He′ll take you to a higher place


Politicians of the world, they sell you a bag of tools
They use and abuse us and turn us into fools
Don't buy into the hype, they′re up to their old tricks
They'll promise you the world and sell you a bunch of bricks
