At the midnight skyline
Where it all began
A sanctuary
Comfort for a lonely man
Footsteps fading faster
Miles and countless miles
Divided, a solitary shooting star falls to earth
Looking for a better life

He longs to taste the danger
With his restless heart
Cast aside, a spirit free to fly at last for all time
Leaving the city behind

For a while captured his heart
Like a lonely spirit
Searching, the lightning that fractures the night
So natural, like a second sight


Feels so right
Darkness fades away
He′s seen heaven's light
And had so much to say
Feels so high
Come what may
Head and heart together
Over and over again

From way up high where the river flows
No-one listening
Just standing there in line
Always hoping for a simple life
Nothing wrong, no regrets

Free to fly at last
