Past the harbor, the city far away
Its gleam like echoes that shimmer on the waves
I steer my yacht, but the wind′s my master
And somewhere out there, I miss my aim

The seagulls cry as if they try to warn me
The quay walls flicker in the evening glow
I thought I was getting closer, yet the shore slips by
Every wave pushes me away


Past the harbor, its haze like dreams
The city calls, but I cannot hear
Waterways lead me in endless circles
I wave at lights I'll never reach

Perhaps somewhere there′s a mooring place
A little harbor to take me in
But tonight, on my lonely drifter
I move onward on the open sea

Perhaps somewhere there's a tiny flame
A little harbor for my heart
And if I find it, I may be too late
Or maybe just in time
