I see you rise above the crowd
Your laughter echoes, much too loud

But deep inside, I sink so low

In shadows, I hide, feeling the sting
Chasing illusions, I want everything
But every smile that lights up the room
Steals my light, and brings me gloom


Oh, I′m just a shadow on your stage
Stuck inside this ego cage
I want your shine, I want your fame
Your vibrant life, your endless game

Caught in your spotlight, can't break away
Every move you make puts me in dismay
I can′t help but wish for what you own
While I linger here, feeling all alone

I paint a smile, but it's just a disguise
Behind the laughter, there's a storm that lies
Wishing on stars that aren′t meant for me

Oh, can′t you see? I'm a ghost in your light
Drifting unseen as you rise out of sight
I watch from the dark, where nothing remains
