Short Visit Songtext

Short Visit Songtext

It was a short visit
But there was much plunder
We got a lot since we arrived

It was a short visit
And it′s no wonder
We've outgrown the world
And there′s no larger size
It was a short visit
From the cave to the city
How high to rise, how low can we fall?
It was a short visit
But there's no room for pity
We're lucky to have been here at all

Now I hear it said
By some among us
Who really believe that man can pull us through
They say man can do it
He′s up to it
Well I hope they′re right
And I hope that it's true

′Cause meanwhile upstream from here
There's a nuclear reactor
And some say, some say it′s as dangerous as can be
And the man that built it
And the man that worked on it
And the man that approved it
Is some bad actor
Hiding the truth from his family

So tell us the truth
Tell it to us, tell us all the facts
'Til it′s plain crystal clear
'Cause a man who knows
Mister's a man who acts
Plenty of people are waiting to hear

It was a short visit
