He drove a short distance, then proceeded to stop the car
He said, this is all I can take you
So I got off the car, and right away a girl hopped in
And they drove very far

Nearly broke my heart, yes it did

So I suppose it doesn′t matter what we say anyway
And even if we did, even if we did love in that way
Nothing will be changed


I sat on the dirt road and watched it split in two
The shop clerk, he told me roads never meet again
So I kicked a few stones and watched them roll
"Should I hitch a ride?" I asked aloud to myself
I fear waiting here by myself, I fear going nowhere

So I suppose it doesn't matter what we say anyway

What is this feeling? I do not like it all
But no one is here to watch me file complaints
So I shrugged at the wind, biting and harsh
