If fear is faith in evil, as opposed to faith in good
Why do we dwell there longer than we should?
If words hold all the power for life and death, it seems
We′d better take the reins upon our dreams

For ages we've been toiling, progress of mankind
Crushing all the wrinkles, flattening the lines
But empty, dark and hollow is all that is foreseen
For he who places I before the taking care of We


Child is born, child grows old
Same old story, gets retold
Keep them safe, feed their souls
Heal your wounds, raise them whole

Child is born

Looking back on living, from our dying bed
Will we read a long list of regret?
Will the tears that stain our faces, slow the hands of time
Or reconcile the choices of our crimes?

The hours that we wasted, chasing pleasure, greed and pride
Are gone and lost forever, like the tears your children cried
In a cold hospital, far from where you call your home
Will they repeat that old cycle with the children of their own
