Getting Old Songtext

My whole life they told me to work as hard as I can
I′ll earn an honest living and be a happy man
Every day I worked and every day I tried
But now I can't see why

I try to entertain day after day
I play my guitar, avoid the clichés
Strum my chords and sing out a song
But the words just can′t be found

I'm growing up and getting old
I'm falling apart, I feel like giving up
Oh, why′s it so hard?
Growing up and getting old
I′m falling apart, I feel like giving up
I've got no use in this world

No use in this world

A beer or some rum, I can′t decide
Who really cares? It's the same old ride
One drink turns into seven or eight
And I just can′t see straight

So, when I look around at everyone I see
A bunch of drunks with Slacker's Disease
I think to myself, what′s wrong with this place?
Is it a crime to want some change?

I'm growing up and getting old
I'm falling apart, I feel like giving up
Oh, why′s it so hard?
Growing up and getting old
I′m falling apart, I feel like giving up
I've got no use in this world

No use in this world

The world around us can change (in the blink of an eye)
Everything could change (and tears wouldn′t cry)
Deep down we knew (yeah, we knew)
Everything, yeah, everything, yeah, everything would end
Yeah!

I'm growing up and getting old
I′m falling apart, I feel like giving up
Oh, why's it so hard?
Growing up and getting old
I′m falling apart, I feel like giving up
I've got no use in this world
Na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na na
