Janet Says Songtext
von Jerry Jeff Walker

Janet says
Looks like a rainy day today
Just another rainy day
As I lean my chin
Slowly up again to wind the pain
It′s another gray rainy day

Go on, try it again
Try, try, try, try to get going

The rain comes down
Forcing you to stay inside
Holding you back from
The places that you usually hide

Are you all alone
More than any time before?
Janet says
She loves you, is there something troubling you?
It's not that easy to say
For I feel sometimes
That your presence in the room of friends anew
Especially on a rainy day

Go on, try to stay
Fly, fly, fly, we′re flying away

But we hold on to
Memories of everyone
Existing clouds
A shadow dance before the sun

Then down like the rain
I can see the separation's come

Janet says
Maybe you would rather sing to me
Life be easier that way
I guess it would
It ought to be a simple melody
One that sort of suits the rain
Everything rolls off on winding reels
Of remembering how it used to feel
To belong somewhere
