Elliot Songtext
von Jeffrey Gaines

Elliot gave clues in the late day in June
When she told me that she was concerned
All of it, you see, was quite curious to me
I thought from my past I had learned
That everything now had changed
I wondered somehow, was it all prearranged?

But sometimes the lives that we choose
Ain′t really the things that we're supposed to do
And no matter how hard we wish upon a star
It might not be in the cards for you, yeah

Elliot seemed somewhat uncertain, it′s true
But he certainly seemed real to me
I thought a lot about how our lives would end up
I thought of every possibility, yeah
But prevention was better than cure
It's been six weeks and there ain't nothing for sure

But sometimes the lives that we choose
They ain′t really the things that we′re supposed to do
And no matter how hard we wish upon a star
It might not be in the cards for you, yeah

So maybe we should loosen up
'Cause sometimes life will interrupt

Sometimes the lives that we choose
They ain′t really the things that we're supposed to do
And no matter how hard we wish upon a star
It might not be in the cards for you, yeah

So maybe we should loosen up
′Cause sometimes life will interrupt
