5th Grade Songtext

5th Grade Songtext
I said I could love you as a friend
And I love her
I do believe I was mistaken
But given time wounds will mend
Please remember a postcard is still not a vacation
And I don′t ever wanna take the blame
For calling you at the wrong time of day
And I don't ever wanna play a part
In all of the games that you play
There was this girl in my fifth grade
She drew pretty pictures
Of her mom and her dad
And of both her sisters
But I never found out just what happened
To her after me
When you said you′d stand by me through rich and poor
Good and bad times
Did you mean that was forever?
Or was it just a promise to a God you don't believe in
Playing out our lives measure by measure
And I will not accept the shame
I made a promise not to change
And I will never play your part
One you're begging to exchange
There was this girl in my fifth grade
She drew pretty pictures
Of her mom and her dad
And of both her sisters
But I never found out just what happened
To her after me
And I love her
I do believe I was mistaken
But given time wounds will mend
Please remember a postcard is still not a vacation
And I don′t ever wanna take the blame
For calling you at the wrong time of day
And I don't ever wanna play a part
In all of the games that you play
There was this girl in my fifth grade
She drew pretty pictures
Of her mom and her dad
And of both her sisters
But I never found out just what happened
To her after me
When you said you′d stand by me through rich and poor
Good and bad times
Did you mean that was forever?
Or was it just a promise to a God you don't believe in
Playing out our lives measure by measure
And I will not accept the shame
I made a promise not to change
And I will never play your part
One you're begging to exchange
There was this girl in my fifth grade
She drew pretty pictures
Of her mom and her dad
And of both her sisters
But I never found out just what happened
To her after me
