The Silver Lining Songtext

The Silver Lining Songtext

I checked the forecast and it called for clear blue skies
I wore my orange dress to match the butterflies
Oh, what a perfect day until I stepped outside
And I saw the grey clouds open wide

There was the downpour and I didn′t see it coming
I shut the front door and I thought you best start running
It's rain or shine, my friend, you got somewhere to go
So say the one thing that you know

I know the sun will shine again
I know the rain will make me stronger
I let the hard times come and go
I′ll carry on much longer

I won't say I told you so
But someday you're gonna see me shining
You′ll find me living in the silver lining
I′m in the silver lining

There's only so much you can do to brace for rain
Those yellow rubber boots won′t stop a hurricane
Some days you might just be surviving through the pain
And you don't have to be okay

But keep in mind, my friend, that nothing lasts forever
Just like a bad dream or a week of stormy weather
You might not see it, but you′re on your way to better
There's only one thing to remember

I know the sun will shine again
I know the rain will make me stronger
I let the hard times come and go
I′ll carry on much longer

I won't say I told you so
But someday you're gonna see me shining
You′ll find me living in the silver lining
I′m in the silver lining

We always want to get to where the grass is green
And it's never been a foolish thing to have a dream
And you might try but find that red is all you see
But every color′s guaranteed

I know the sun will shine again
I know the rain will make me stronger
I let the hard times come and go
I'll carry on much longer

I won′t say I told you so
But someday you're gonna see me shining
You′ll find me living in the silver lining
I'm in the silver lining

Living in the silver lining
I'm in the silver lining
Woah
