a god can do it Songtext

a god can do it Songtext
A god can do it. But how, tell me, could
a man follow him through the narrow lyre?
His mind splits in two...
Singing, as you teach it, is not desire,
not a lure for something yet to be caught.
Singing is being. For a god, it′s easy.
When, though, are we? And when does he
scatter the earth and stars upon our lives?
It isn't, young one, when you′re in love, even
if then your voice bursts open your mouth: — learn
to forget that singing. That passes.
True singing is a different breath.
A breath towards nothing. A gust in the god. A wind.
a man follow him through the narrow lyre?
His mind splits in two...
Singing, as you teach it, is not desire,
not a lure for something yet to be caught.
Singing is being. For a god, it′s easy.
When, though, are we? And when does he
scatter the earth and stars upon our lives?
It isn't, young one, when you′re in love, even
if then your voice bursts open your mouth: — learn
to forget that singing. That passes.
True singing is a different breath.
A breath towards nothing. A gust in the god. A wind.
