1835 Songtext

Rifle sight, it rests
On the forehead and the chest
This mortal shell
Drugged and humbled by the smell
Sorrows inane
Of which we do not know the name
Gobbled by the swarm
Undone one outrunned and

Shimmer like a dew drop on a petal

That′s what we'll all be, washed away with history
A rupture and some 50 died in 18-hundred-35
I′ll join' the vanished mass in the vast forgotten past
Sing with them in the trees, that's the place that I want to be

Sighed in the breeze, countless the casualties
Lost their form but everyone was born
With gasping lungs and heaving for new air
Fatally there, and crying out for care

How they crawl and stagger ′til they drop dead
Fought neither for their home nor a godhead

That′s what we'll all be, washed away with history
A rupture and some 50 died in 18-hundred-35
I′ll join' the vanished mass in the vast forgotten past
Sing with them in the trees, that′s the place that I want to be

Bend the iron bars of a wide and occidental sky
It's trouble every day
Plead, plead, oh, plead for me
I′ve forged every guarantee
The bubbles in the glass
Will twinkle 'til they pass
Seethe until they're gone

That′s what we′ll all be, washed away with history
A rupture and some 50 died in 18-hundred-35
I'll join′ the vanished mass in the vast forgotten past
Sing with them in the trees, that's the place that I want to be
