Pestiferous Songtext
von Hibernaut

Eyes from the village drawn to the trees
Awaiting hunters return, who bring disease
Rising gibbous moon engorged with light
A lunation since commencing venatic rite

Host to the fever, pestiferous
Hunters moaning, oddly mellifluous
Hydrophobic, thirsty and miserable
Drawn out death they will know

Survivors descend stiff, sick and slow
Some reunited, more in throes
Dead gathered, bathed, laid to rest
The sick show signs of being possessed
Bodies bound to beds, strips of leather
Bite marks bleed and ooze, growing redder
Refusing water, eating only raw meat
Red foam rimmed mouths groan, growl and excrete

Host to the fever, pestiferous
Hunters moaning, oddly mellifluous
Hydrophobic, thirsty and miserable
Drawn out death they will know

Straining against bonds, snapping, gnashing
Writhing, final struggle before passing
Succumbing to festering wounds
Bodies interred only to then be exhumed
Necromancy whispered, the hermit hears
Of dark priests on distant frontiers
Ritual beyond time, across the sea
Vessel secured, at dawn′s light they leave

Embark, voyage ambiguous
Sworn silence, crew exiguous
Surreptitiously corpses unearthed
Absconding for their rebirth

Host to the fever, pestiferous
Hunters moaning, oddly mellifluous
Hydrophobic, thirsty and miserable
Drawn out death they will know

Embark, voyage ambiguous
Sworn silence, crew exiguous
Surreptitiously corpses unearthed
Absconding for their rebirth
