Back to Hobbiton Songtext
von Herc

Night steals the sun
And light conquers the dusk
To the edge of the wild
To the east I go

One year ago we marched to the north
Over rocks and under trees
We sought the hollow halls

Sunlit hills, great old trees
Merry flowers and silver streams
Once again I′m here with you
The bright stars showed me the way to truth

Under the light of the moon
We crossed the mount where Smaug once ruled
And the road goes ever on and on
I'm far away yet so near to my sweet home!

Under the misty clouds
And under the stars
We felt the fire′s wrath
And the steel's cold touch

Smaug now sleeps
Away from his golden bed
One year has passed and at last
I greet my beloved home

Sunlit hills, great old trees
Merry flowers and silver streams
Once again I'm here with you
The bright stars showed me the way to truth

Under the light of the moon
We crossed the mount where Smaug once ruled
And the road goes ever on and on
I′m far away yet so near to my sweet home!
I′m far away yet so near to my sweet home!
Aaaah
