Boss Level Songtext

Boss Level Songtext

Inflated ego it goes perfect with his suit and tie
The corner office is his courtroom and its eye for an eye
In judgement of all his old colleagues
Despite his own past discrepancies

He′s making us all work late
All so he'll get a raise
For increased efficiency

We spend our lives trying to be the boss
And when we succeed
No matter the cost it still counts as a loss
When you think you′re above who you used to be

He's made it clear to us he is not "one of the team"
And too important now to make his own morning coffee
A hard day of passing down the blame
And taking credit not his to claim

He's really stressing me out!
I′ve got a wife and a house!
And you′re not fucking this up for me!

We spend our lives trying to be the boss
And when we succeed
No matter the cost it still counts as a loss
When its not by your example that you lead

And here's something else, Bob.
I have eight different bosses right now.
I beg your pardon?
Eight bosses.
Eight?
Eight, Bob.
So that means that when I make a mistake,
I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it.
That′s my only real motivation is not to be hassled.
That, and the fear of losing my job.
But you know, Bob
That will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

We spend our lives, trying to be the boss
And when we succeed
No matter the cost I'll write you off as a loss
When you think you′re above who you used to be (used to be)
When you think you're above who you used to be (used to be)
When you think you′re above who you used to be
