Full Buck Moon Songtext

Jimmy came by to ask me if I could lend him some cash
I said no way man, I′m not interested in sponsoring your death
He came back 45 minutes later and then I said OK
'Cause I figured if he really needs them, he′s gonna get them anyway
Now his mother's running out, looking for her son
She comes by my house saying have you seen him
I lie and tell her that I have no clue
He's probably out there just gazing at the full buck moon

Ah, Joanna was my saviour once, now she′s somebody else
And when I see her at the grocery store we just nod our heads
Like in some silent agreement of letting the past be
But I can′t shake the feeling, she's changed a lot more than me

Oh, Johanna, do you remember how
The abandoned sawmill smiled in our rear view mirror one last time
Goodbye to you, you said, I really do hate you
And we sang along to that old TNR tune
As we drove away under the full buck moon

The sun all rocks on my window and I′m looking out
There's Jimmy with a girl and a big dog, high and messing about
Saying come out with us tonight and we′ll go swimming in the lake
Grabbed a towel and slipped into my shoes and then we walked away

Though I've seen you walk around with tombstones in your eyes
You seem more alive than any of them
′Cause none of them will be swimming soon
No, none of them will be swimming soon
Under the full buck moon

All that we wanted to be
All that we wanted to be
All we ever wanted to be was 17 and forever free
