Wild Light Songtext
von HAELLA

There was a moment by the river
Where the whole night seemed to breathe
Streetlights trembling on the water
Branches moving overhead
And suddenly the world felt wider
Than the stories in my head

We were running through the backstreets
Summer thunder in the hills
Every window glowing gold
Every silence standing still
Your hand warm against my shoulder
Breathing smoke into the dark
Somewhere dogs were barking softly
Somewhere trains were falling apart

And all the small things kept unfolding
Moths against the neon signs
Tiny lives burning around us
Bright and brief and alive
I can feel it opening
Like the night itself unfolding

Wild light
Running through our bodies tonight
Wild light
Every shadow turning gold in motion
We will never separate from it
Every heartbeat glowing in the dark
Wild light
Carry me out past the edge tonight

Out beyond the empty servo
Past the fences and the pines
The whole valley held its breath
Under enormous skies
And I thought about the years
I spent afraid to disappear
Trying hard to make a mark
Instead of simply being here

But the trees did not apologize
The river did not explain
Everything alive around us
Just burned quietly the same
There′s a current underneath us
Pulling every living thing

Wild light
Moving through the fields tonight
Wild light
Every lonely heartbeat coming open
We are made of borrowed starlight
Brief and beautiful and burning
Wild light
Hold me in the turning world tonight

If nothing here can last forever
Let it make us softer now
Let it teach us how to love
Without trying to possess
The night keeps opening around us
The dark alive with hidden wings
And somewhere underneath our breathing
Everything is listening

Wild light
Running through the river tonight
Wild light
Every living thing illuminated
There is beauty underneath us
There is wonder in the ordinary
Wild light
Lead us through the dark a while
Wild light
Teach us how to shine without fear

We were glowing the whole time
