Robin Songtext

Robin Songtext
Tanned by the summer, her smile so soft and warm
Her red hair slightly dulled some by the sun
I called her my Robin when we met in the fall
She loved me through the cold, cold winter months
I kept telling myself she′d never leave me
But a wild bird never stays in one place long
By the last fall of snow, I knew she had to go
By the first sign of springtime, she was gone
And Robin just came in for the winter
And the winter just lasted for a while
Every time I hear the sweet songs that the Robin redbreast sings
My eyes still cry, but my heart wears a smile
While sorrow throws her darts at me, I sit here all alone
Waiting for the long, hot summer's end
And wishing that each breeze would start the falling leaves
And Robin might come back to me again
But my Robin just came in for the winter
And the winter just lasted for a while
Every time I hear the sweet songs that the Robin redbreast sings
My eyes still cry, but my heart wears a smile
My eyes still cry, but my heart wears a smile
