But why would I try to replicate
A toxic relationship?
Maybe it′s the regret
I've been trying to push away
Instead of learning to live with
Maybe I′m just searching
For the closure I never got
But does closure really exist?
Does closure even do anything?
Does it create peace of mind?
I feel like there's no reason
Or understanding I could have
Of what happened that could prevent me
From feeling the way I feel
Maybe I pictured her Cause she was someone I knew well
And I'm scared to invest as much into someone else
If the same result might happen
So I′m just turning back to what I know
But I don′t want that again
She told me that she'd treat me better
When I was able to afford to treat her to nice things
I worked too hard to meet those standards
To have to try and meet them again
But is that all life is?
Just a race to meet standards
That everyone sets for each other?
I guess I′ll just have to set
A different standard then
