Orphan Parade Songtext
von Frida Snell

Orphan Parade Songtext

Father went to heaven
And mother caught a train
She said "Baby, I′ll go downtown
To get some food and daily wage"
There's a place we call oblivion
I used to go there every day
To chase the angels up mid streams
And search the answers to silent prayer

Was it easy, was it hard
To leave a child a piece of heart?
Can you hear me singing through these tears?
Oh, we′ll always be apart
Did you cry or did you forget
All those answers I'll never get?
Did you hear me shout, no
Did you turn around, no
To see me join the orphan parade?

Years pass by like clouds in the sky
I've grown up and left the school
I marked most of the subjects
Yeah, I really worked so hard
And there′s a place upon a rooftop
I used to go there every night
Reach out my hands to hold you tight
And for a moment it feels alright

Was it easy, was it hard
To leave a child a piece of heart?
Can you hear me singing through these tears?
Oh, we′ll always be apart
Did you cry or did you forget
All those answers I'll never get?
Did you hear me shout, no
Did you turn around, no
To see me join the orphan parade?

Here I stand, I′ll wait for years
I won't give up, just dry my tears
I′ll throw a dream out in the cold and pray
But it won't reach you
When you′re freezing in the fall

Was it easy, was it hard
To leave a child a piece of heart?
Can you hear me singing through these tears?
Oh, we'll always be apart
Did you cry or did you forget
All those answers I'll never get?
Did you hear me shout, no
Did you turn around, no
To see me join the orphan parade?
