Two Sisters Songtext
von Freya, Abbott, Ferguson

Two sisters walked by the river Brinn
Bow down, bow down
Two sisters walked by the river Brinn
The bough shall bend to thee
Two sisters walked by the river Brinn
The elder pushed the younger one in

Singing, I′ll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

Oh sister, sister, lend me thy hand
Bow down, bow down
Oh sister, sister, lend me thy hand
The bough shall bend to thee
Oh sister, sister, lend me thy hand
And I will give you both houses and land

Singing, I'll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

I′ll neither lend thee hand nor glove
Bow down, bow down
I'll neither lend thee hand nor glove
The bough shall bend to thee
I'll neither lend thee hand nor glove
Until you give me thy true love

Singing, I′ll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

Well, first she sank and then she swam
Bow down, bow down
First she sank and then she swam
The bough shall bend to thee
Well, first she sank and then she swam
Until she came to the old miller′s dam

Singing, I'll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

The miller he came with his rod and his hook
Bow down, bow down
The miller he came with his rod and his hook
The bough shall bend to thee
The miller he came with his rod and his hook
And he fished the fair damsel right out of the brook

Singing, I′ll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

Oh miller, I'll give thee guineas ten
Bow down, bow down
Oh miller, I′ll give thee guineas ten
The bough shall bend to thee
Oh miller, I'll give thee guineas ten
He took them then he pushed her back in again

Singing, I′ll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

The miller was hung from yonder gate
Bow down, bow down
The miller was hung from yonder gate
The bough shall bend to thee
The miller was hung from yonder gate
For drowning the farmer's daughter Kate

Singing, I'll prove as true to me love as me love proves true to me

I′ll prove as true love, I′ll prove
