Calling from a era unremembered
Where it was November the whole year
We reappear
In some upturned hour
With younger faces
On the rooftop of a wretched student rental
In the elemental flail of youth
With nothing to do but watch the day and sing to one another


The ones who care all tell me, "Don′t look back too hard"
A time that we shared, but we all kept a differеnt part

In the stomach of those arbitrary parties
Always cеlebrating, always sad
A habit we had of trusting without really understanding
What do we do with all this new forgetting?
How do you communicate and ungraspable lack?
I run the tape back as it starts unspooling


Though it's not clear or vivid, I know we were there
Each moment was atomizing like breath in the air
The ones who know all tell me, "Don′t look back too long"
As soon as the memory hits you, it's already gone
