Well I really don′t know why I always
Do this to myself
Round and round my head I go
Although it never helps

The constant mental war I have
The swings and roundabouts
Like one big weight sat on my chest
Now I can't leave my house

It′s a constant uphill struggle
And the frequent maintenance
I'm mentally self-harming
And none of it makes sense

Well worrying's like a rocking horse
Is what my mum would say
It won′t ever get you anywhere
And you′ll drive yourself insane


But I can't seem to help myself
Oh Mumma, I am scared
What if there′s some degree of truth
With the words inside my head

And that little voice inside my brain's
An awful lot like mine
But it never says nice things to me
Yet I trust it every time

And all this circling
Is so frustrating

And I′ll pick at my skin in the form
Of anxious self-destruction
To try and cope with the fact
I'm struggling to function


I find it hard to pick between
The truths and all the lies
Whilst I′m caught in a whirlwind
As I catastrophize

Overthinking all the little things
The anxiety is trapping
Creating fake scenarios
That'll never actually happen

And then my intrusive thoughts will all
Start to creep in
And make me panic even more
And prevent me from sleeping

And all this circling
Is so frustrating

And then slowly eventually
The dust will start to settle
After god knows how many hours
Of my brain just going mental

I'm physically exhausted
After self-annihilation

But I′m too scared to face it

My thoughts were never right
After catastrophic worrying
It all turned out just fine

I wanna say I′ll learn my lesson
So it doesn't happen twice
