Recently I′ve found myself
Being taunted by the spectres of my future
Saying life is gonna get me
Spurred on by the demon
Standing proud on my shoulder
He holds a loaded gun to my head
No bad omen left unsaid
I take drives to escape
The fuel light's on again
I swear to god
I rolled home that day
I let it all build up
I never alleviate the strain
I just pick up the dead weight

I′m numb to the pain
I just entice it
I just invite it in


And I was never one to fear what life had to throw at me
But now I'm second guessing
Just need a kick in the arse to let me know
That I'm on the right track, won′t fight back

The shadow that walks beneath me
Is as cold and empty as I drag my feet
Searching for a place that′s better than where I am
I just hope the loose concrete doesn't build up and bury me alive

Numb to the pain
